Tazewell ARC is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. We survive on donations and the generosity of people who love animals as much as we do. Monetary contributions are always welcome and are used for vetting, housing expenses for the animals, food, and transports. Those can be sent to us through PayPal (firstname.lastname@example.org) or by using the link we’ve provided on this page. Donations earmarked for vetting can be made directly to our project veterinarian, Dr. Linda Taylor at Clinch Mountain Veterinary Services in Claypool Hill, Va. Her office phone number is 276 963 7877. The staff at CMVS is quite familiar with ARC and can process donations toward our vetting expenses over the phone.
Material donations are also needed on a continual basis. Dog and cat food are critical. We feed Pedigree Adult dog food and Purina Cat Chow or 9 Lives.. We do accept other brands, but in order to prevent digestive upset for the animals, we mix them half and half with the Pedigree and Cat Chow. More information about our feeding choices can be found here. We are always in need of household bleach, the original “blue” Dawn, paper towels, piddle pads, and laundry detergent. More information about the use of those products can be found here.
On a larger scale, corporate sponsors might consider helping us with improvements to the facility toward the goal of opening it to the public. Rescues are not required to give public access (more information about that here) but we dream of offering an adoption center, dog park, walking trails, and Wi-Fi hotspot. Current needs are gravel for the parking area, fencing supplies, a reliable heating system, guttering, and many, many other practical items to make life better for the animals of ARC.
