Dusty — Ready for a Forever Home

DESPERATELY SEEKING a best friend who is gentle and kind, but who loves to play and rub my belly!

This dog is adoptable. All animals listed as “adoptable” by TARC have completed fourteen days of intake quarantine and either have been or will be at the time of adoption fully vaccinated, dewormed, sterilized, and microchipped. They have been carefully monitored for behavioral issues and deemed extremely low risk for average households. We never recommend placing dogs in homes with small children unless the parents are experienced pet owners and understand the added complications. If you’re interested in adopting one of our dogs posted here, please fill out our adoption application and mention that you saw the dog on our Steemit blog. Long-distance adoptions are possible, but we will need to work with a humane organization in your area to facilitate it, and cost of transport will be the adopter’s responsibility.

Hi! My name is Dusty. I’m a Collie mix with a really tender heart and an old soul. I’m about nine months old in these pictures, and will probably end up weighing thirty to forty pounds.

I was dumped with my littermates on a deserted road in the mountains. Every single one of us has proven to be extremely bright, trainable dogs who are eager to learn. It runs in the family! One of my brothers is in training for service work. I didn’t get picked because I’m not quite as intrepid as he is, but I’ve been learning some things right alongside him. I know how to sit, lie down, and shake hands. I’ll do anything for a treat!

I bark at cats and other small animals, but mostly I just want them to play with me. I would probably be fine with them if someone takes the time to introduce us properly. I’ll be wonderful with kids and I’ll be totally devoted to my family. I really want to be someone’s special boy. I have so much love to give!

If you are my perfect hooman, please contact TARC and let them know you’re interested in me. I will wait patiently to hear from you!

Please consider donating to Tazewell ARC to help them take care of me!
